Although most people who use wheelchairs for long amounts of time choose lightweight wheelchairs, the EZee Life Standard Wheelchair is ideal for short excursions and basic transportation needs. This wheelchair provides independent or dependent mobility because it can be propelled by the user or pushed by a carer.

All FDM EZ-Life standard wheelchairs come with elevating leg supports, which support the user’s feet while the knee is flexed at various degrees. Elevating leg rests have flip-up footplates that change in height and can be swung away or removed as needed. Furthermore, each elevating leg rest contains an adjustable calf pad that supports the user’s calf.

Elevating leg rests are meant for those who must keep their leg/legs straight for some reason, or who have restricted knee flexion that prohibits them from bending far enough to utilize regular footplates. If only one leg is damaged, they can be used alone, but they must be ordered in pairs.

Elevating leg rest adjustment: Because of the way the knee bends, when the leg is straightened, the leg length effectively lengthens, making footplate adjustment a little problematic. We recommend that the user sits in the wheelchair and has a caregiver set the footplates to a comfortable position after lifting the leg rest to the most usual predicted angle of use.
